Udaan, a B2B e-commerce platform, has reportedly laid off 100 to 120 employees. This move comes after the company consolidated its two business verticals - essentials and discretionary - and is aimed at reducing redundancies, reports The Economic Times. Earlier this year, Udaan announced its decision to merge and consolidate the essentials business with the discretionary business as part of organisational changes. The company is now implementing a regional-operated design to enhance its growth and efficiency, resulting in job cuts. The restructuring exercise has also led to the departure of key executives Gaurav Bhalotia and Vivek Gupta. Udaan has not disclosed the severance package for the laid-off employees.
